Charlie’ paints a picture of the recreational cocaine use which has become a socially acceptable part of the weekend for many. “Addiction is kinda like an abusive partner and so I wrote around the idea. So many people in this country are stuck on loop in this awful relationship with coke. It's low key because for the other 5 days in the week it's “normal life” but Charlie is a bad boyfriend and a lot of people are struggling with him more than they would like to admit
